Set on the slopes of a hillock skirting the Talakalale Reservoir and just 6 km away from the infamous Jog Falls, and the camp is located in Kargal, Karnataka, against the backdrop of the glorious Sahyadri mountain ranges.
Oozing with natural beauty, the camp has stunning views of the reservoir and the surrounding valleys and mountains.
You will find 20 cottages, each with a private balcony overlooking the natural landscape and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The preservation of the environment is high on the list of priorities for the camp, and it is certified by the Wildlife Tourism Society of India.
Exploring Karnataka's Sharavathi Wildlife Sanctuary
Sharavathi Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, India. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1972 and covers an area of 431.23 square kilometres.
The sanctuary comprises dense evergreen and semi-evergreen forests and some moist deciduous forests. It is home to several diverse wildlife, including the endangered lion-tailed macaque, tiger, leopard, wild dog, sloth bear, spotted deer, sambar, and many more. It is also home to various species of birds, reptiles, and amphibians.
The climate within the sanctuary is tropical, with temperatures ranging from 15° to 38°C and an average annual rainfall of 4500 mm.
